Our mission is to call and prepare everyone to be fully committed followers of Jesus Christ.

Our Church Board has done extensive work on revisioning for our congregation and is working on three-year goals on a regular basis. We have agreed upon 10 Commitments as a basis for membership and we are actively developing our ministries of local outreach. Our strongest programs have been giving to missions through Mennonite Board of Missions and family ministry with strong youth programs.

Our theological commitments are consistent with basic orthodox Christian beliefs and Mennonite Theological statements. We try to teach and preach a balance that includes all of our basic beliefs and attempt to help everyone find ways to practice them in daily life.

We are an old and rural congregation that tends to interpret and practice our theologies in a relatively conservative manner. Yellow Creek is very healthy spiritually and emotionally. There is a high level of trust among lay leaders and staff, and leaders are committed to developing healthy communication in the congregation as they provide examples of being a non-anxious presence. The leadership keeps pointing in the direction of spiritual maturity and of following the Holy Spirit in openness to newness as well as holding onto what is timeless.

Over the next few years we envision a congregation that is growing spiritually and numerically as members discover their spiritual gifts and are trained and encouraged to use more gifts in expanding ministries, as part of teams, to the local community and the larger world. We are adding significantly to our facilities to provide space for these expanding ministry possibilities.
